Not ever green leaves …… if you havent got a shredder bung ya leaves on the lawn & go over with a lawn mower , half the size ! starting with an empty bin i put straw on the bottom first then a 2″ layer of leaves & water , in the water are my activators ; liquid hoss muck & piddle ! carry on layering & watering til full , compress & fill again til you cannot compress anymore . cover with carpet put lid back on with date , 6 months time my leaf mold will be ready , this will be one of my ingredients for my composting ! i do a moisture check every 10 days as with my compost bins , white bins in summer , carpeted in winter !
